Kuwait ranks eighth in the world in recovering from the Corona pandemic

The Nikkei monthly index for monitoring recovery levels from the Corona pandemic revealed that Kuwait and Chile ranked eighth in the world in recovering from the Corona pandemic, after both countries obtained a recovery rate of 76 percent.

The Nikkei index, which ranks most of the world’s countries on the basis of specific and clear criteria, includes the total number of those who took the vaccination, the number of new infections, deaths, and the preventive measures that are applied in different regions of the country.

It is worth noting that the reports of the American Health Centers for Disease Control and Epidemiology stated that the booster dose of Corona vaccines remains highly effective in the first two months after vaccination, so that its percentage begins to decrease gradually. During the outbreak of the mutated Omicron, the doses of the booster vaccines against “Corona” recorded a protection from entering the emergency department in hospitals by 87 and 91 percent, respectively, for the two months following the third dose.

And health centers reports confirmed that after the fourth month, the protection rate drops to 78 and 66 percent, respectively. While health centers recommend the need to take the fourth dose for those who have low immunity.

**Benefits of booster doses

From the point of view of doctors, experts and health centers, it is not possible to provide a 100% effective vaccine to completely eliminate this epidemic, but it can be controlled and the spread of the epidemic reduced. There are many examples of this, such as; Measles, whooping cough and polio are all examples of vaccines that do not provide complete immunity, yet these diseases have been eliminated in many countries.

While health authorities recommend three doses of vaccines to obtain strong protection against severe symptoms of the disease. Data from the UK Health Security Agency stated that the efficacy of the vaccine against symptomatic diseases with the omicron variant is much lower than the delta variant, with rapid decline. However, protection against hospitalization remains high, especially after the three doses.
